“The secret of change is to focus all of our energy, not on fighting the old, but on building the new.” Socrates.
Some of us are happy with change, but for many it’s something we have difficulty accepting because there’s an element of the unknown that can create feelings of insecurity. It implies we need to accept something that we haven’t up to this point.
There’s a saying that “when the winds of change blow, some people build walls and others build windmills”.
We know change is always happening - it’s a part of life - so if we resist we spend more time fighting it than we do seeing how it can be of benefit to us.
The next time you face change it may help if, instead of looking first at the losses, you look for the benefits.
