Police are thanking members of the public for information that led to an arrest on Tay Street, Invercargill.
The man, who was wanted on firearms related offences, was arrested at 6pm Thursday in a motel unit.
After a search of the unit the 33-year-old will now face further charges including possession of methamphetamine for supply and driving offences.
Methamphetamine and $7000 in cash was seized.
Detective Sergeant John Kean thanked members of the public for their assistance.
"We really appreciate those who came forward with information, which helped lead to this arrest.
"We take this sort of offending extremely seriously and rely on the community to help us by being our eyes and ears."
The man is due to appear at the Invercargill District Court today.
