Police seeking information on Blenheim crash

Police are appealing for witnesses following a car crash at the intersection State Highway One, Tua Marina and Bush Road, Blenheim.

Acting Senior Sergeant Michel Bloom says the crash happened at about 3.30am

"A white Toyota Camry with the registration plate ESW137 was involved in the crash.

"Two men were in the car at the time, witnesses report they had scratches on their hands and faces and were picked up by a member of the public following the crash.

"The car had been stolen from Scotston Grove earlier.

"Blenheim Police would like to talk to the person who gave the two men a ride and anyone who may have spoken to them immediately after the crash."

Overnight a number of vehicles in the Redwoodtown and Witherlea areas were also broken into, says police.

"Police would like to remind people not to leave valuables in their vehicles, and to park in well-lit areas where possible."

Anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the area or has information about the crash and two men is also urged to contact Police on (03) 578 5279.

Information can also be provided anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
