Police appeal for witnesses to cyclist incident

Police are appealing for witnesses to an incident involving a cyclist on the morning of Monday February 4.

Between 6.30am and 7.45am, an elderly male cyclist was located injured at the intersection of Southern Cross Road and Sprott Road, Kohimarama, says Sergeant Blair Atkinson.

"He was transported to hospital where he died the following day.

"Police want to speak to anyone who may have seen this incident or who assisted the injured rider, including a female at the scene who phoned the cyclist’s wife."

Anyone with information is asked to contact Sergeant Blair Atkinson from the Auckland Northern Serious Crash Unit on 09 481 0780.
