Dairy prices have fallen for the fourth consecutive auction, but only by a fraction.

The average price was down just 0.4 percent to $US3302 a tonne.

It follows the previous auction's 3.8 percent drop.

The price for whole milk powder, which has a key influence of farmer payouts, was unchanged at $US2969 a tonne.

Prices for other products fell, except for skim milk powder, which is up 3.2 percent.
