A power issue that temporarily suspended all trains in and out of Wellington could cause delays this morning, Metlink has warned.
Metlink tweeted about 7.20am that trains on the Johnsonville, Kāpiti, Hutt Valley and Melling lines were suspended.
It confirmed about 20 minutes later that the power issue causing the suspension had been resolved, but warned of delays.
Metlink said power had been restored to the lines between Wellington and Kaiwharawhara but some services on the Melling and Hutt lines were still suspended while they "attempt to rescue a disabled train".
It said trains leaving the city were particularly delayed.
Services have now resumed on all lines.
