A man helping clear debris in storm ravaged Kaiaua ended up having to be flown to hospital after cutting his hand with a chainsaw.
The Auckland Rescue Helicopter Trust was dispatched to Kaiaua on Saturday.
“The man, in his 60’s, slipped and cut his hand with a chainsaw while clearing fallen tree debris on the road.
“Because of the wet weather, Westpac 2 flew low and along the coastline to assist with visibility.”
The man was flown to Middlemore Hospital in a moderate condition.
