One person is dead and another is in critical condition following a T-bone crash in the Whitford area.
The Auckland Rescue Helicopter Trust was called to the crash at 5.52pm on Friday.
A spokesperson for the rescue helicopter says two critical patients were involved in a T-bone crash where a car hit the side of a four wheel drive.
“Unfortunately, one patient died at the scene.
“The second patient, a male in his 20's, was transported by ambulance with the chopper's medical crew on-board to Auckland City Hospital in a critical condition.
“He needed to be RSId (Rapid Sequence Intubated) to assist his breathing in the back of the ambulance on the way to the hospital.”
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
