Lake Hood waterskiers have returned from the trans-Tasman Oz-Kiwi test with medals and a heap of personal bests.

Emily Milner had the best result, with silver medals in the slalom, tricks and jump and earning the overall gold for her under 14 girls’ grade.

Milner was also part of the Kiwi team that beat the Australians in their age group match-up.

The four-day event was held in Wanganui, on Lake Wiritoa.

Milner’s second jump of 27.6 metres was a personal best and equalled a New Zealand junior record.

It was then broken by team-mate Alex Brown who jumped 28.8m.

George Donaldson was the top Kiwi slalomer while brother George won bronze overall in the under 21 grade, with a silver in tricks.

Josh Hood said he was was stoked to jump a personal best of 39.8m, while Diaz McKay slalomed into 13m for the first time in competition.

The Donaldsons, and sister Lana, now head to Melbourne for the Moomba Nautique 200 waterski festival, which features athletes from 19 countries.
